Tamanu Oil from the seeds of the Calophyllum Inophyllum tree (locally known as "bitaog" or "palo maria") is a prized carrier oil also called “beauty leaf oil”. It has been proven to be superior to other oils in topical skin regeneration due to its unique composition of antioxidants, essential fatty acids (oleic and linoleic acid), vitamins C and E. The rich, green-hued oil has been used for centuries for therapeutic and cosmetic purposes in island cultures, its effect on skin is profoundly deep and restorative.

The Calm Balm is ideal as a spot treatment in your skincare routine. Apply on dry, damaged and irritated areas 2x daily for 1 to 4 weeks to see the effect. It is also an effective first-aid treatment for wounds and inflammations on face and body. Ideal especially in the evening to align its deep-repairing action with the skin’s natural overnight regeneration cycle.
What skin type can use Calm Balm? Will it make me break out?
Tamanu Oil is generally safe for most skin types, including sensitive, dry, combination, aging and acne-prone skin. It moisturizes without clogging pores. It has a low comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5 (where 0 doesn't clog pores at all) and is anti-inflammatory, which means it can actually help prevent breakouts. But as with any new product, patch test first and monitor how your skin reacts.
Compared to other cosmetic oils, Tamanu is considered medium viscosity. It is lighter than: Avocado oil, Coconut oil and Olive oil.
For acne-prone skin: In vitro tests have also shown strong antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne. Additionally, its high linoleic acid content helps regulate sebum production, making it beneficial for oily and acne-prone skin despite its rich texture.

Tamanu tree nuts fall naturally to the ground, are hand harvested, dried in a lab facility for at least 6 weeks, and premium cold-pressed, before it is used in our formulation.
