Our Tamanu (Calophyllum Inophyllum) Oil is freshly sourced, cold-pressed and lab-tested to give optimum benefits. Tamanu is a rare oil found only in tropical regions and has been proven to be superior to other oils in topical skin regeneration due to its unique composition of antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins C and E. Used for centuries for medicinal and beauty purposes in island cultures, its effect on skin is deep and restorative.
We source from wild Tamanu trees that grow in the coastal areas of Visayas and Mindanao in southern Philippines, where we have a fully traceable process. Women in local communities use the traditional method of hand-gathering fallen nuts, which respects and preserves the ecosystem of tropical beach forests, making the process highly sustainable.

What skin type can use Calm Balm? Will it make me break out?
Tamanu Oil is generally safe for most skin types, including sensitive, dry, combination, and acne-prone skin. It moisturizes without clogging pores. It has a low comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5 (where 0 doesn't clog pores at all) and is anti-inflammatory, which means it can actually help prevent breakouts. But as with any new product, patch test first and monitor how your skin reacts.
Compared to other cosmetic oils, Tamanu is considered medium viscosity. It is lighter than: Avocado oil, Coconut oil and Olive oil.
For acne-prone skin: In vitro tests have also shown strong antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes, the bacteria responsible for inflammatory acne.
